About EStud
What is EStud?
The University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) is represented by the Engineering Student Council (ESC), which serves to provide a voice for the school's student body to the institution's administration and faculty, as well as the general public. The council develops social, intellectual, and service activities for the student body, and it strives to encourage SEAS school spirit and pride. The members of the council are designated leaders and are entrusted with maintaining concern for students' opinions and needs throughout the SEAS.
What does EStud do?
The council fulfills its representative duties as members serve on administrative and faculty committees, and through regular communication between members and officers with the Dean of the SEAS. The officers lead the council by suggesting and managing planned activities. Council committee chairs are chosen to take charge of these tasks, and council members provide the muscle and spirit by which every organization survives. Throughout, the council serves as a learning experience, providing opportunities for increased responsibilities and acknowledgment.
