UVA WOMEN'S CLUB LACROSSE

About

The UVA Women's club lacrosse team was founded in 1997. We are a team of around 30 girls who love lacrosse and are dedicated to the sport. We play teams in the area such as Virginia Tech, Loyola, JMU, William & Mary, Duke, Lynchburg, Randolph Macon, Villanova, and many more.

We have tryouts early every fall, and our practices are Tuesday and Thursday (4pm-6pm in the Fall) and (6pm to 8pm in the Spring) + Sundays from 2pm to 4pm. We play in many tournaments throughout the year with lots of tournaments in the Fall, but Spring is our main season. We love lacrosse and love to have fun together!

To be able to perform so strongly the team has focused on bonding and becoming a unit. Besides practicing 3 times a week with each other and having either a game or tournament on almost all weekends, the group eats dinner together after practice, goes to the AFC for group work-outs, goes on team runs, and attends varsity lacrosse games to support the team and also learn from their great lacrosse skills. The team has also attended a self defense class after recent events have occurred in Charlottesville against female students. Even though games are when the team truly shines, the bonds and friendships that result from the commitment of the players is what makes the University of Virginia's Women's Club Lacrosse team so special. Uniforms are worn with pride and other teams respect our playing style and sportsmanship.
