Sustained Dialogue
at the University of Virginia
"It's not just talk. . .it's a social movement."

Racism ~ Self Segretation

Ignorance ~ Racial Tension

These are the issues which have brought
us together to discuss our shared concern over the state of race relations both in the UVA community and society at large.

Sustained Dialogue at the University of Virginia serves as a catalyst for bringing together different types of people and opening lines of communication between racial groups. Community members engage in the process of "Sustained Dialogue" orignally created by U.S. diplomat
Harold H. Saunders. Over the course of a year, you and your Sustained Dialogue group will address strained community relationships and build the capacity between group members to formulate action and improve them.
