Saturday March 17th, 3:00pm – 5:30pm, Lorna Sundberg International Center

Learn how to make an amazing four-course French meal with the help of l’Etoile’s chef and owner, Mark Gresge! We’ll start the menu with a burgundy salad, then move to coq au vin and French onion soup, before finishing with a delicious chocolate souffle. You’ve never made a meal like this before!

Saturday March 24th, 3:00pm – 5:00pm, Kellogg Kitchen

Come learn how to make classic Szechuan Chinese dishes with James Lee from Peter Chang’s famous China Grill! We’ll start off with delicious homemade dumplings followed by Dan Dan Noodles, a traditional noodle dish topped with pepper, pork, and scallions. These dishes are rich in flavor, but simple to make.

Info.: Come join in the on the fun and learn how to cook some amazing dishes! From herb scented sauces to creamy saboyon, the Cooking 101: Mysteries of the Yolk class will open your eyes to the mysteries and treasures that eggs hold. Sign ups will begin on Monday February 27, 2012. A sign-up sheet will be available in the Student Activities Center (basement of Newcomb) or you can simply email Nick Williams at naw8pu@virginia.edu. The class will be on March 16th from 5-7pm in the Lorna Sundberg International Center right on University Circle. The class is FREE of charge, but will be rich in full stomachs and yolk to go around. We hope to see you there!

Artisan’s Bazaar – Get Involved

We are now accepting applications for the 2011 Artisan’s Bazaar!

When: Thursday, November 10th and Friday, November 11th
Where: Newcomb Ballroom Time: 10am – 7pm

The Artisan’s Bazaar is a craft – fair where Artisans from the University and Charlottesville community are able to showcase and sell their handmade products. Typically, there is a wide variety of items available at the event ranging from jewelry to men and women’s apparel to glassware. The Artisan’s Bazaar is very popular among UVA students, faculty and staff as well as members of the Charlottesville community, especially because the event is held near Christmas time and many view it as a great opportunity to buy gifts for friends and family, and of courses themselves!
