EricaJoy Oliverio, 4th Year, firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi friends! My name is EricaJoy Oliverio, but y’all can call me EJ for short. I’m a fourth year English and Media Studies major from The Plains, Virginia. (Don’t worry if you’ve never heard of it. Our biggest attractions are a corn maze and a horse race, and we don’t even have a stoplight.) I joined UPC’s Cinematheque committee during my first year (shoutout to my Cinebuns) where I absolutely fell in love with UPC’s mission and community. Since then, I’ve served as the Director of Cinematheque, a Vice Chair of Programming, and, finally, the Chair of UPC. My friends say I spend all of my time at UPC events and in my second residence of the PAC (which is probably true), but occasionally I escape to binge watch Netflix, brainstorm punny Insta captions, or check activities and restaurants off of my Charlottesville bucket list. Please let me know if you have any ideas, comments, questions, concerns, or coffee recommendations; I’d love to meet and talk to each and every one of you!
UPC’s Chair serves as a connector and communicator among all levels of the organization. The Chair should lead the organization towards a cohesive vision, guided by annual priorities and student need. The Chair also supports the Governing Council throughout the year, while maintaining UPC’s external relationships (the administration, students, and the Charlottesville community) in tandem with the Vice Chair of Outreach. Keeping the organization running on a day-to-day basis and solving problems as they arise are the Chair’s responsibilities, as well as leading weekly Governing Council meetings and setting the Executive Council agenda each week.
