The Virginia Wushu Club was founded by Mike Chin in the Fall of 2001. Mike's goal in the creation of the club was to bring greater awareness of the Chinese Martial Arts to the University community.
If you are interested in joining the club, simply show up to one of our practices and talk to one of the officers. We invite all levels of experience to train with us, so no experience is necessary.
Members are currently training in Shaolin and Long Fist forms. More advanced members are also training with various weapons. The internal Taijiquan (Tai Chi) forms may also be taught. Basic conditioning exercises are essential to the training of Wushu, with emphasis on proper stances, strength, and flexibility.
Practices are currently being held in Memorial Gym Multipurpose room 1.
The most up to date practice times (hopfully) can be seen in the top left column. If this schdule is not correct, please contact one of the officers.
The Mem Gym Multipurpose room is to the right after you enter the basketball court area. AFC Room 2/3 is downstairs to the left. Slaughter Multipurpose Room 1 is the first room in hallway to the left.
