Hi! My name is Keith Bergstresser and I am an Atheist!
Both of my parents are not religious and I never thought
about the concept of God until I was in high school. It took me
about five years, from the beginning of high school to my second
year in college, to realize that I am an Atheist. While I have
never believed in God, and often argued against the possibility
of God, I refused to accept the term Atheist. I think I rejected
the term because I was afraid to accept the negative stigma that
comes with Atheism and I refused to give up my individuality by
giving myself a label. I have since learned that it is no way to
live being ashamed of who you are and what you believe, and that
I can retain my own beliefs while categorizing myself with
others. And in the last couple years I have found other groups
that I fit in with as well. I am now proud to say that I am an
Atheist! I am a Freethinker! I am a Bright! I might consider myself
a humanist as well, but I'm not really sure yet.
