BRMRG E-mail Lists

To subscribe to any e-mail list, send a message to: majordomo@virginia.edu. In the body, type: subscribe brmrg-whatever (brmrg-whatever being the list name) followed by your e-mail address.

How to unsubscribe yourself from a brmrg mailing list, this can be done at any time:

1. send a message to majordomo@virginia.edu
2. in the body of the message, type the following:
unsubscribe brmrg-whatever xxxx@blah.edu
end
3. send said message.

Notes:
1. the "whatever" in step 2 refers to "new" "search" or "chat"
2. if you want to unsubscribe from more than one mailing list, USE A SEPARATE LINE FOR EACH LIST.
3. Troubleshooting: Say you try to unsubscribe, but it dosen't work. That means you didn't enter your e-mail address in the format majordomo expected (majordomo is a computer program and needs very specific instructions). This is generally only a problem if you have a UVA address. Here are some variations to try, using my specific e-mail address as the example: eah2f@virginia.edu, eah2f, or my personal alias hartman@virginia.edu, or my "full" address eah2f@blue.unix.virginia.edu (this can vary quite a bit from person to person).

To send mail to a list, e-mail brmrg-whatever@virginia.edu. Please do not send mail to the brmrg-search list unless a search is underway or you have an official announcement.
