8/7/06 - Tryouts Scheduled

Tryouts for the upcoming Fall 06 and Spring 07 seasons have been set for the weekend of September 9nd and 10th. The first round of tryouts will be held September 9th and 10th from 9 AM - 12 PM, after which the first cuts will be made.  These tryouts will consist of one day of fielding, throwing, and running and the other day of hitting.  After the first round of cuts we will have intrasquad scrimmages on Tuesday and Thursday, Sept. 12th and 14th, after which final cuts will be made.  Meet at 8:30 AM at Bonnycastle Circle on Sept 9- from there we'll drive to the field.  In order to get ready for these tryouts I would suggest throwing and fielding/hitting wherever you can- The field we usually play at, Burley field, is pretty busy at night, but it should be relatively empty during the day.  Also, feel free to tell any of your friends about tryouts- we want to build the best team possible.

5/21/06 - New Officers Elected

The officers for the Fall 06 and Spring 07 season were elected at the end of the season party hosted by former president, Gabe Orsinger. The results are as follows;

President - Joe Orville. After a semester in Europe, this fourth year pitcher returns to the team with some extra velocity on his fastball (Do they play baseball in Europe?) and brings a renewed seriousness to a team that lost its focus at the end of last season.

Vice President - Kevin Zdancewicz. Kevin, a third year catcher, takes over the vice president position but still retains status as the president of the Burley Field-First Year Dorm shuttle service.

Treasurer - Corey Sedwick. After spending last year crunching the club baseball numbers, this fourth year accounting genious/outfielder returns to the treasurer position in hopes producing back to back seasons... of being under budget.

Secretary - Matt Sherman. Third year third baseman, Matt Sherman, returns to the secretary position. From screaming line drives to unsigned waiver forms, nothing gets by this guy.

Social Chair - Adam Ventre. This third year Professional Hitter/Party Thrower has plans to break the single season attendance record at Burley Field.

Webmaster - Nick Bonard. After initiating a mid season makeover that took the website from drab to fab, this third year shortstop takes over as full time webmaster.
