Funding from Grad Council

Requesting Funds from GSASC
One of the primary activities of the GSC is distributing the $5 activity fee charged to all Arts & Sciences grad students. , but the first step is to fill out a Funding Request Form.

FRFs must be submitted prior to the GSC Budget committee meeting in order for a recommendation to be sent to the full council. A graduate student representative from the organization or group requesting funding must attend the Budget Committee meeting at which the request will be discussed. Recommendations by the Budget Committee will be taken to the full council for a vote at the next meeting. Decisions about funding are then sent to accounting which will arrange for the transfer of funds and notify the group or organization.

Priority funding is given to requests which:
  • impact a broad range of graduate students.
  • clearly advance the academic environment.
  • have additional outside funding.
  • that increase the exposure of graduate student council.

Funding cannot be allocated for:
  • the purchase of alcoholic beverages
  • religious activities
  • philanthropy
  • political activities
  • the purchase of property
