2004 Virginia Classics Graduate Student Colloquium
    * Funding for Graduate Conference 'Art in Literature, Literature in Art'
    * Motion to fund at $1800. seconded. Passed unanimously

Graduate Religious Studies Association Spring Lecture

    * Lecture will bring James Alison, a prominent theology scholar.
    * Council approved $730

Christopher James, co-chair, Research Exhibition

    * Went over the time-line for the Research Exhibition
    * Asked Reps promote the informational meeting and to encourage grad students to submit an abstract
    * Information about entering and rules are at Exhibition
    * Volunteers will be needed the day of the event

      * Motion to approve $2100 for speakers series - Approved unanimously

      * Hors d'ouevers reception, date/time TBA
      * Ice Skating night - $4.50/ person (possibly Jan31st)
      * Ballroom Dance Lessons - $5.00/person (possibly Feb 13th 7-10:30)
      * Bar night - dead
      * International Movie night Wednesdays 7:30
      * Pilates/Yoga class looking for instructor
      * Motion to give Social Committee $650 for Socail Events in Jan/Feb - Approved unanimously

President's Report

    * Need 2nd StudCo representative
    * Trying to organize mass grad email
    * Lori Casteen is organizing cross-grad social event with band and refreshments

Vice Presidents Report

    * Nothing to report

2nd Vice Presidents Report

    * Web Voting System - envisioned a system for Reps to submit and vote on motions with a user id and a password. When voting is over, then a email would be sent to the GSASC Pres. with tally and break down of how each person voted. Cost would be $350

Honor Report

    * New Rep - Elizabeth Epps

StudCo Report

    * Need 1 more Rep

New Business

    * Motion to move officer elections to March. Approved unanimously
    * Departmental Concerns - Faculty Confidentiality - will see with Dean to warn faculty
    * Departmental Concerns - Leaving Faculty who have student to find a new project with new advisor (students have to "start over" - will see with GLU
