Old Business

  • Athletic Department: haven't heard anything
  • Party: Starr Hill was huge success; didn't sell out, but we had good numbers. Darden paid $500, Biosci $300, didn't use gallery room, so came in under budget
  • Dial-up Access: disconnecting the low-speed lines, can get email and all UVa access, no WWW; will calculate the cost of basic Cornerstone acct into financial aid
  • Printing charges? - credit
  • Research Fair: Friday before Spring Break, good # of entrants, short-fall on judges
  • Unionization Effort: there is a union, but they can't make everyone join; next meeting April 3rd to decide which national union they want to affiliate with

New Business

  • Space in Science Library: is the grad space in the new science library? No, just general purpose meeting rooms.
  • Amendment of By-laws: changing president to an official student rep; changing Secretary to VP, also ex officio member of committees; will vote over email since we do not have quorum

Funding requests

  • UCS $409.50 - voted to fund in full; voted against funding proposal #2 - Why so expensive? Distribution?
    • Request subsequently withdrawn since it was rescheduled for next year.
  • Religious studies $3000 - give them $1500 now, $1500 later
