Peter Brunjes, a representative from GSAS:
Peter came to make the council aware of the services offered through the GSAS
Dissertation Year Fellowship - Applications in March, appropriated by department.
Husky Travel Fund - Ask your Director of Graduate Studies about obtaining this fund to present at a meeting.
Summer Foreign Langauge Institute - Graduate Students can request funding to learn another langauge
Cornelle University has a great datbase for fellowships
Funding Requests
12th Annual Art History Symposium - To extend the relationship between memory and art.
Requested $1600
Money approved by council
President's/Treasure's Report
Traditionally Grad Council spends $10,000 per year. Council has about $28,000.
One way we spend money is on the Research Exhibition
Need to hire someone to organize the Research Exhibition
Created a small committee to determine job description and hiring
Social Comittee was created to spend money on Social Events
Educational Outreach/Speaker Series are other ideas for Grad Council Envents
Student Health Insurance Committee - need volunteer
