5K Run
Every semester Habitat has a 5k run to help raise money to end substandard housing. The theme for the Spring 2007 5k was "Racing to Build Hope" and the theme for the Fall 2007 5k was "Habitat HomeRUN".
On Sunday, November 6th, 2005, about 40 runners and walkers came out to run and help support Habitat for Humanity. People finished anywhere between 16:21 and 46:48. The top 3 male and top 3 female runners got prizes, which were generously donated by Jaberwoke, The Happy Cook, Hot Cakes, Game Stop, Corner Outlet, Starbucks Coffee, Cavalier Pipe & Tobacco, and the Ragged Mountain Running Shop. Food was also generously donated by UVA Dining.

SLAMitat for HOOmanity - Fall 2006
We organized a large benefit concert at the Downtown Pavilion featuring several UVA groups. This fall event aimed at bringing together the Charlottesville and University communities to raise awareness and funds for affordable housing.
Family Weekend Build
On Sunday, October 23rd, more than 70 UVA students gathered in the Amphitheater to build a home for a family in Biloxi, Mississippi. Working with Greater Charlottesville Habitat, students framed the interior and exterior walls as part of Habitat for Humanity International's Hurricane Katrica relief effort: "Operation Home Delivery".
We were able to build with the help of John and Renee Grisham, native Mississipians and local Charlottesville residents. They are sponsoring a total of six OHD homes which will be shipped to Biloxi this January.
