Hoos In Treble is a nationally-acclaimed, all-female a cappella group at the University of Virginia. As a group, we specialize in singing, dancing, beat boxing, and arranging. The group was founded in the fall of 1999, and over the past 10 years it has grown considerably in both talent and reputation.
In the last decade we have been featured on Best of College A Cappella, received a CARA award for best arrangement, been nominated for a CARA award for best female collegiate soloist, and been asked to perform at numerous venues—including the Reagan International Center D.C., the Gravity Lounge in downtown Charlottesville, and on the local corner radio station, 106.1.
The women that comprise this group, in addition to being some of my best friends, are some of the most talented, passionate, and musically inclined individuals that I have ever met. Even though we are such a diverse group, with varying interests and personalities, we all share in our love of music and performing. They are the only people I know that sing along to the car radio in multiple-part harmonies and don’t look at me funny when I burst into song for no apparent reason. Being able to goof off with my girlfriends while doing something we all are passionate about—making music—is more than I could have asked for in an extra-curricular activity.
To find out more about who we are and what we do, I encourage you to check out the rest of our site and to come see us at our various gigs around grounds.
