Since 1852, less than 35 years after Mr. Jefferson founded
the University of Virginia, fraternities have been an integral
part of student life, enhancing both the academic and extracurricular
experience for thousands of men. IFC fraternities at the
University are not merely social organizations—they are
groups that pride themselves on service to the community,
philanthropy, scholarship, integrity, honor, and tradition.
Today, 28 chapters and approximately 1,500 men
are governed by the Presidents’ Council, Governing
Board, and Executive Committee of the IFC.
I welcome you to the website of the Inter-Fraternity Council
at the University of Virginia, and I invite you to explore
and see what makes us one of the preeminent IFCs
in the country.
