Welcome to the website of the Inter-Fraternity Council Judiciary Committee (IFCJC), the judicial body of the Inter-Fraternity Council at the University of Virginia, Incorporated (IFC).

Adam Parsell, Chairman

The IFCJC is the student, self-governed body with the authority to adjudicate cases involving violations of the IFC Standards of Conduct by the 28 IFC fraternities. This committee is comprised of approximately fifty support officers who act as investigators, counselors, and judges, investigating alleged cases of fraternity misconduct, representing the parties involved, and hearing the cases in trial, respectively. Leading the IFCJC are the Executive Committee members who act as trial chairmen and lead the support officer pools. Anyone can file a complaint with the IFCJC, and each semester, approximately 20-25 cases are heard.

Under the leadership of recent IFCJC Chairmen, the IFCJC has dramatically improved its operations and functioning, transforming itself into a legitimate and efficient judicial body. The IFCJC managed a record number of complaints during the 2004-2005 school year, and more importantly, heard every case regarding IFC fraternity misconduct. This year’s IFCJC will not only maintain and continue the internal improvements, but augment its communication and accessibility to the entire University community.

The IFC expects its members not only to uphold the central tenets of fraternal organizations—scholarship, leadership, service, and brotherhood—but to act with excellence in conduct, exercising accountability and responsibility. The IFCJC serves to support this goal and to maintain the health of our community.

On this site, you will find our Judiciary Committee Standards and Procedures, a contact list of the current committee, information and documents pertaining to Chapter Standards Boards, an online complaint form where complaints can be filed with the IFCJC, and a feedback form to contact us.
