The IMPACT Movement at the University of Virginia is committed to the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19), with a special interest in equipping and discipling the African-American community at the University of Virginia.
We commit ourselves to:
God's Word - We study the Scriptures in order to be approved to God as a workman who needs not be ashamed - 2 Timothy 2:15 - We understand that our secular expertise should not outrun our Biblical fluency.
A Bold Witness - We tell all whom we are given the opportunity about the matchless grace of God as displayed through His Son, Jesus Christ - 2 Timothy 4:2 - If those who preach false gospels boldly proclaim their error, how much more should the people of God proclaim the truth of God's Word?
True Worship - Our devotion to God will be characterized by authenticity, integrity, and consitency - John 4:24 - I will lift my hands and voice in adoration and praise of my Maker, Redeemer and Friend. He is the source of my joy, strength, peace, power and purpose. To Him and Him alone do I bend my knee - Psalm 95.
Godly Living - We seek to live in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called - Ephesians 4:1 - For too long, the Gospel has been undermined by the lifestyles of those who claim to follow Christ.
Global Vision - We do everything in our power to see this message declared to the maximum number of people - Philippians 3:7 - We have a responsibility to see the Gospel spread, not just in our own community, nor merely this country, but around the world.
