Dear Delegates,
On behalf of the International Relations Organization, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us for the fourteenth session of the Virginia International Crisis Simulation (VICS). VICS XIV will take place from March 26 to March 29, 2009 at the beautiful and historic grounds of the University of Virginia.
Yet again, VICS promises to be an exhilerating conference unique to the college Model United Nations circuit. The first of its kind when it started in 1996, VICS has continuously strived to provide delegates with small, crisis-based committees that tackle unique and challenging topics over three days of engaging debate. In addition to our renowned crisis simulations, UVa's unofficial motto "Work hard, play hard" extends beyond the committee rooms and into the variety of social events over the weekend. From friendly conversation at the Head Delegate soiree to our infamous "Fraternity Simulation," conference-goers can expect ample time to meet and socialize with their fellow delegates and staff over the course of the weekend.
As Secretary-General of the Fourteenth Annual Virginia International Crisis Simulation, it is with warmest regards and great excitement that I welcome you to our conference and our university. My goal, along with the rest of VICS Secretariat and staff, is to make this conference as rewarding and memorable an experience as possible for every delegate in attendance.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or any other member of Secretariat if you have any questions regarding the conference. Our information is available on the contacts page, and we will be working constantly from now until March to make sure your experience goes as smoothly as possible. Also, please periodically check back on the website for updates regarding registration, hotel information, committees, and so on.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to meeting you at VICS XIV this spring!
Sincerely,
Max Griffith
Secretary-General, VICS XIV
