Hotel Information

School registration will be held in the Newcomb Hall Ballroom on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 1:00pm- 5:15pm.  Please contact Marina Arnold with your anticipated time of arrival at vics.charge@gmail.com. 

We have reserved blocs of rooms at four different conveniently located hotels:

  1. Red Roof Inn

    2. We have 35 double rooms reserved at the Red Roof Inn at a rate of $77.99 a night, and 15 king rooms with pullout sofas reserved at a rate of $82.99 a night. To reserve here call 434-295-4333 and mention VICS Model UN to receive the group rate. The cutoff date to book here is February 25, 2009. This hotel is the closest to grounds.

  2. Courtyard Marriott

    3. We have 30 double rooms reserved at the Courtyard Marriott at a rate of $119 a night for weekdays and $169 a night for weekends. To reserve here go to www.marriott.com/chodt and use the booking code VIC C, or call the hotel at 434-977-2600 and mention VICS Model UN to utilize the reservation and discounted rate. The cutoff date to book here is February 26, 2009.

  3. Best Western Cavalier Inn

    4. We have 25 double rooms, 8 single rooms plus sofas, and 2 king rooms reserved at the Best Western Cavalier Inn at a rate of $92 a night. To reserve here call 434-296-8111 and mention VICS Model UN to receive the group rate. The cutoff date to book here is February 26, 2009.

  4. Hampton Inn & Suites

    5. We have 10 double rooms reserved at the Hampton Inn & Suites at a rate of $113 a night. To reserve here call 434-426-7866 and mention VICS Conference to receive the group rate. Rates include a complementary hot breakfast each morning. The cutoff date to book here is February 24, 2009.

    • Hotel reservations are first come, first served. 
    • Be sure to make your reservations early as the hotels are likely to fill up fast. 
    • After the cutoff date listed for each hotel, blocs will be dropped and the previously reserved rooms will no longer be limited to VICS Delegations.

We strongly encourage you to make your reservations as soon as possible, as space is likely to fill up quickly. Also, we highly recommend the hotels listed because they are within walking distance to the University. As a last resort, you can always try Travelocity or CheapTickets.com, but you might be fighting rush hour traffic to get on grounds. Also, parking is limited and expensive on UVa grounds, so Secretariat would advise against planning to drive to committee sessions.
