ISC Formal Recruitment Overview
ISC Recruitment lasts for one full week. The following four rounds comprise the Recruitment process:
- Round Robbins
- Potential new members visit all 15 chapters over two days. This round consists of informal, casual conversation at each chapter, designed to give potential new members a brief overview of all the sororities here at the University. Lunch is provided during the Monday and Tuesday of Round Robbins.
- Themes
- Potential new members visit a maximum of 10 chapters. Considered one of the most fun rounds, themes allows each chapter to really show more of the chapter's personality, through skits they perform for the potential new members. The potential new members will also receive more details about each chapter's philanthropies, activities, and financial requirements during this round
- House Tours
- Potential new members visit a maximum of five chapters. House Tours consists of a longer visit to each chapter, during which potential new members receive a more extensive tour of the chapter house.
- Preferentials
- Potential new members visit a maximum of three chapters. During this final round, chapters share part of their ritual with potential new members and reveal more about what sorority sisterhood means to them
Each round becomes progressively more formal, and the number of chapters potential new members return to decreases each round as well. The number of chapters a potential new member is invited back to is determined through a mutual selection process. Chapters will decide the invitations they wish to extend, but then potential new members also may have the option of choosing which chapters they wish to visit in the next round.
If a potential new member is invited back to more than the maximum number of chapter visits allowed for the next round, she must narrow down her choices. If she is invited back to the maximum number or fewer, however, she must visit all those chapters in the next round.
