Service

Kappa Kappa Psi is an honorary band fraternity dedicated to the 'existence and welfare of the college and university bands,' and as such, one of our core goals and objectives is to improve UVa's band programs through service.  We primarily assist the Cavalier Marching Band and the McIntire Department of Music.

Chalking

During the past four years, we have helped the CMB in projects large and small, from painting band facilities to annually cleaning instruments, and from purchasing sweatpants for new marchers to helping clean up after practice each night.  Along with reorganizing the Department's music library last fall, we provide usher volunteers and organize advertising projects for the McIntire Department of Music.  Recently, brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi have also begun a music tutoring and education program at the local Walker Middle School.  While looking to improve and expand our service to the CMB and the UVa bands, we hope to continue our service to local music programs through tutoring, fundraising, and other programs.
