Barbara E. Armacost, Moderator
Professor of Law, University of Virginia School of Law
Barbara E. Armacost Õ89, Professor of Law at the University of Virginia School of Law, teaches courses on civil rights litigation, criminal investigation, torts, and the First Amendment (religion clauses). Prior to joining the Law School faculty, Prof. Armacost clerked for the Honorable J. Harvie Wilkinson III of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and served as attorney adviser in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice. Prof. Armacost became a lawyer after a number of years in the nursing profession.

Dahlia Lithwick

Dahlia Lithwick is a Senior Editor at Slate. She received a 2001 Online Journalism Award for her Supreme Court Dispatches. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The New Republic, Commentary, The Washington Post, and The American Lawyer. She is co-author of Me vs. Everybody published in 2003 by Workman Publishing.

John DiPaolo
Executive Director for Partnership Schools of Temple University
John K. DiPaolo directs Temple University's initiative to create a small, university-connected K-12 school system within the School District of Philadelphia. TempleÕs goal is to dramatically improve student achievement through its leadership of the six high-poverty, low-performing schools surrounding the university. Prior to coming to Temple in 2002, Mr. DiPaolo worked in Boston and New York, managing the creation of a public arts high school, directing policy at BostonÕs local education fund, and teaching public high school math. He has also practiced corporate and education law.

Tim King
Co-Founder and CEO The Philanthropy Group
Tim King is founder and CEO of The Philanthropy Group, a consulting, information service and outsourcing firm serving donors. Through TPG, he provides services to private foundations and high net worth individuals including administering foundations, reviewing grant proposals, strategic planning and conducting due-diligence on nonprofits. An avid writer and public speaker, his work has been featured in various media outlets including The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun Times, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and The Economist. He serves as an adjunct instructor at Northwestern University, where he teaches a class on philanthropy.
