About UsHistoryThe Conference on Public Service and the Law, first held in 2000, is now one of the most prominent student-organized public service events on the East Coast. Past keynote speakers have included Senator Edward "Ted" M. Kennedy '59; Nadine Strossen, ACLU President; Justice Stephen Breyer of the U.S. Supreme Court; and Janet Napolitano '83, Governor of Arizona. The Conference sparks scholarly debate on subjects generally left outside the classroom, such as corporate responsibility, affirmative action, and international development. Perhaps most importantly, the Conference illustrates for students the wide variety of ways that lawyers can and do become involved in public service. Conference Board
