Elizabeth Bass, Interim Executive Director

Elizabeth Bass joined Madison House in August 2003. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Virginia in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003 with a Masters in Social Work. While a student at the University of Virginia, Elizabeth volunteered with Madison House as a volunteer and then Head Program Director for the Day Care Program and also served as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors. Outside of Madison House, she was a University Guide Service Vice-Chair, a Resident Assistant, a Leadership 2000 participant and a Class of 1999 Trustee. Elizabeth worked for two years after college in Charlottesville as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Shelter for Help in Emergency. As a MSW student at VCU, she interned with Communities in Schools in Richmond and the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority. During the summer of 2002, Elizabeth worked as a Fellow in the Department of Planning and Budget, Health and Human Services as a part of the Governor's Fellows Program. Elizabeth serves on the UVa Young Alumni Council as Secretary, Public Service Liaison and Chair of the Selections Committee. Each summer, she volunteers as a counselor with Special Love, a camp for children with cancer. She is excited to be back at Madison House.

Karver Bolton, Assistant Director of Programs

Karver Bolton joined the program staff at Madison House in August 2008. Karver graduated from the University of Virginia in 2002 with a major in Religious Studies and a minor in Bioethics. After graduating, Karver trained adventure guides in Colorado and worked at a therapeutic wilderness school in central Virginia before returning to his hometown of Winston-Salem, NC to pursue a Masters in Counseling at Wake Forest University. While a graduate student, Karver interned as a high school counselor and worked in the Office of Volunteer Services at Wake Forest. After graduating in 2007, Karver took a job in the President's Office at Wake Forest, serving as a liaison and program coordinator for student groups. In his newly-created position, Karver's work focuses on the community aspect of the Madison House mission: he collaborates with the volunteer coordinators at local schools and agencies, explores and develops new volunteer sites, and supports the student leaders in training and program evaluation. He is excited to be back in Charlottesville and part of the University community again.

Allison Scholl, Director of Development and Alumni Relations

Allison Scholl joins the Madison House team from Glendale, Arizona where she worked as the Executive Director for the Glendale Family Development Center, serving at-risk families in the western Phoenix metropolitan area. She is also the founding President for Family Promise of Greater Phoenix, a non-profit housing homeless children and their families, volunteering for over five years. During her tenure as a leader in both organizations, her efforts resulted in several large grant awards from organizations including, Valley of the Sun United Way, AZ Community Foundation, the Arizona Cardinals and the Nina Mason-Pullium Charitable Trust. In addition, she worked to recruit and foster relationships with local volunteers, successfully recruiting and managing over 1,000 per year on average.

Prior to working in the non-profit arena, Allison worked as the Director of Development for Drake International and Worldwide Director of Education for Support Technologies, Inc. While working as a business analyst Petsmart's world headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona, Allison earned her Bachelor of Arts in Management through the traditional program at University of Phoenix.

Ben Eppard, Director of Communications

Ben Eppard joined the Madison House staff as Director of Communications in August 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Liberty University, where he specialized in public relations and graphic design. As a student, Ben served as the editor-in-chief of the University's award winning campus newspaper and volunteered at the community hospital. After graduation he returned to the University to coordinate the redesign of www.liberty.edu, later becoming Creative Service Manager for the University. In 2006, Ben began his own Web design company, which he continues outside of his work for Madison House. Originally from the Charlottesville area, Ben is excited about working alongside students in giving back to the community.

Anna Rossberg, Office Manager

Anna Rossberg joined the Madison House staff in July 2007. She is a 1983 graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in Environmental Sciences. While at the University, she volunteered with the Migrant Aid program through Madison House. She and her husband Bill live in Crozet and have four children ages 12 through 20.
