Welcome from the President

Since our establishment at the University of Virginia in the spring of 2000, the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) has continually expanded and transformed into an integral part of the Greek community. Comprised of Hispanic/Latina, Asian, and multicultural fraternities and sororities, the MGC proudly offers diversity and unique college experiences to its current and future members. As a council, we strive to promote scholarship, service, leadership, culture, and brotherhood/sisterhood, and believe in providing the opportunities to do so.

As president of the Multicultural Greek Council, I welcome you to our official website and encourage you to discover who we are as well as the myriad possibilities that our organizations may hold for you. Thank you for visiting us online and do not hesitate to contact me for additional information or questions.

Mission Statement

The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) focuses on unifying and creating opportunities for all of its member organizations. The MGC and its members work together in an on-going effort to serve as the governing body of the organizations approved for membership within the Multicultural Greek Council at the University of Virginia. The MGC educates and supports the current and emerging expressions of Greek-lettered organizations. The MGC unifies the goals and ideals of member organizations in relation to the educational mission of the University of Virginia. The MGC promotes the fraternity and sorority ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, culture, and brotherhood or sisterhood. The MGC cooperates with the members of the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC), the Inter-Sorority Council (ISC), and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and educates them on the purpose of the Multicultural Greek Council.
