The organization would not be as successful if not for its strong leaders. And so, below are the committees that help plan our many events:
Cultural:
Responsible for planning events to promote our culture to the Charlottesville community through events such as Culturefest and Barrio Fiesta.
Community:
Responsible for helping the Charlottesville community, making activities that involve the whole organization, as well raising money or materials for those in the Philippines.
Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue - FIND:
Responsible for informing OYFA of District 7 events, involving OYFA in District 7 events, and encouraging OYFA members to attend Dialogues and National Conferences.
Historic:
Responsible for keeping records of the activities and events of the organization, maintaining contact with alumni, soliciting donations for the OYFA Excellence Scholarship, and educating the Charlottesville community on Philippine and Philippine-American History.
Initiative for Studies In Pilipino - ISIP:
Responsible for educating the University community of the Philippine heritage through classroom instruction that focuses on Filipino literature, history, and language.
Membership:
Responsible for maintaining and increasing membership and organizing the Sibling and Family Programs.
Press/Public Relations:
Responsible for publicizing and informing the community about all the organization's activities through various means of advertising.
Social:
Responsible for planning and organizing all social events within the organization and between other organizations.
Sports:
Responsible for organizing all sporting events.
