Riz Magalong | 2nd Year | Biology

Why did you want the position you currently hold?
- I wanted to be even more involved in OYFA, and I figured I should use my love for the Filipino culture through ISIP classes and just give back to the OYFA community in that sense. (: Plus, teaching is something that I would want to do as a career, and ISIP is a perfect combination of something that I love and something that I love doing.
If you could have any other position in OYFA at this very moment, what would it be and why?
- I think it would be fun to be Culture chair. Even though they have so much work to do, especially around Culturefest and Barrio, that's the kind of thing I love to do - I love putting performances together. And I think, in the end, all your work really pays off. You become really proud of everyone and yourself after each performance.
What does it means to you to be Filipino?
- It means having a culture to be proud of. (: And of course, the wonderful things that come with culture - food, language, traditions, customs, and of course my BIG family.
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
- A humongous family reunion (I miss my family - all the bajillion cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents too hahaha)
- I want to be able to fly. That would be so convenient.
- I want to see my Big Sib. I miss her.
