LGBT Resource Center
The LGBT Resource Center at UVa supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Nondiscrimination Policy
The University's Nondiscrimination Statement and Policy states that "the University does not discriminate in any of its programs, procedures, or practices on the basis of age, color, disability, national or ethnic origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, or veteran status." Please take a moment to read over the statement and the policy.
QSU
"The QSU is the University of Virginia's largest LGBT group on Grounds. As such, we strive to provide a safe, welcoming, and confidential environment for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning individuals in the community. We also organize services, activites, and social programs for the student population at UVA, with an emphasis on gay culture and social thought. As the largest LGBT group on Grounds, we work to represent and advocate queer students' concerns to the University's administration, alumni, and the local government." The Serpentine Society
An alumni network "dedicated to reaching out to and advocating for all gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered UVa alumni/ae, faculty, and studenty by connecting to each other and to the University." The Serpentine Society generously funds the LGBT Resource Center's programs.
Women's Center
The UVa Women's Center serves the University community with outreach to women. It offers a unique mix of programs, leadership opportunities, and education centered around issues that affect women. It's staff and volunteers are extremely knowlegeable and helpful; they help serve over 16,000 individuals a year! ASG serves residents of Central Virginia and offers support for those affected by HIV/AIDS as well as educational programs.
Equality Virginia
Equality Virginia "has been involved in the political process, public relations, grass roots lobbying, and other forms of activism for years. Now EV is stepping directly into the electoral process with the activation of its new, nonpartisan political action committee, EVPAC."
Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD)

Human Rights Campaign

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
"The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Foundation (the Task Force) was the first national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights and advocacy organization and remains the movement's leading voice for freedom, justice, and equality. We work to build the grassroots political strength of our community by training state and local activists and leaders and organizing broad-based campaigns to defeat anti-LGBT referenda and advance pro-LGBT legislation. Our Policy Institute, the community's premiere think tank, provides research and policy analysis to support the struggle for complete equality. As part of a broader social justice movement, we work to create a world that respects and makes visible the diversity of human expression and identity where all people may fully participate in society."
Richmond Organization for Sexual Minority Youth (ROSMY)

Transgender Law and Policy Institute
TLPI is "a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging in effective advocacy for transgender people in our society.
