Sept 14 UVA IM tournament. Won by Ben Mudrak, Jade Craig, Matt Hilliard, and Junghoon Ha.
Nov. 9 Cavalier Classic VII, our annual high school tournament, won by STAB-A.
Nov. 16 SNEWT VII, a first and second year tournament at Swarthmore College. We sent one team (Morgan, Chris B., Meg, Jade and Stacey) and placed second in our bracket with a 5-2 record. We then lost three games in the playoffs, including two extremely close games to Maryland and Swarthmore A. We ended up placing 5th.
Spring 2003
Jan. 24-25 Penn Bowl 12, one of the country’s largest college tournaments, held at the University of Pennsylvania. We sent two teams. Both teams did very well, with our A team (Steve, Chris, Katie and Ben) going 10-4 in their division, while the B team (Morgan, Meg, Mike D., Gwen and Nadia) went 7-7. Congratulations to Steve, who was the tournament’s third highest scorer with 70.62 ppg.
Feb 8 NAQT Mid-Atlantic SCT, to be held here. We put in a Div 2 house team (Morgan, Gwen, Mike D and Chris B.) and placed third with a record of 10-4. Our performance qualified us for Nationals in L.A.
Feb 15 ACF Regionals, held at the University of Maryland-College Park. We were going to send a team, but an unfortunate snowstorm stopped that.
March 1 DSHIT VI, a tournament for first and second year players at the University of Maryland-College Park. We sent one team (Morgan, Serge, Nadia and Faraj, who referred to himself as ‘Slore’ for the tournament), finished with a 3-3 record after the round-robin, and were in a circle of death with Maryland and Swarthmore for third. Swarthmore and Maryland finished ahead of us, and thus got to go on to the real playoffs while we got stuck in the consolation bracket. We finished fifth overall, and Morgan was the fifth highest scorer with 61 ppg.
April 4-5 NAQT ICT, held at UCLA. We sent two teams. Our Division 1 team (Steve, Chris, Lydia and Katie) finished 21st, and, may it be added, destroyed all other teams in negs. Our Division 2 team (Gwen, Meg, Serge and Mike D.) finished 14th, and Gwen was the sixth highest scorer with 50.38 ppg.
April 26 Princeton University Buzzerfest VI, an tournament held at Princeton University. We sent two teams. Our A Team (Chris, Ben, Morgan, and Serge) finished third with a record of 9-2, and our B team (Gwen, Mike D., Nadia, and Stacey) finished ninth with a record of 3-8.
