  • Katie Bowers ('02, '04) graduated with an MA, finally, and went on for her PhD in Russian literature at Northwestern.
  • Serge Edelman ('04) majored in Computer Science and is now working.
  • Ben Mudrak ('04) majored in Biology and is now in grad school at Duke.
  • Chris Manteuffel ('04) majored in Computer Science and History and is now working.
  • Steve Perry ( Law '03) graduated from UVa's Law School, and is practicing law in Texas.
  • Mike Dance ('03) majored in Chemical Engineering and is now doing grad work at Georgia Tech.
  • Mike Weiss ('03) majored in History and Economics, and is now at Harvard Law School.
  • Michael Loatman ('03) got his undergrad degree and is now attending UVa's Law School.
  • John Kenney ('02) majored in english and added a distinguished major in history. He is off studying history at UPenn, working on his PhD.
  • Meredith McNabb ('01) graduated with a degree in economics, got a degree in law from Washington & Lee, and is studying theology at Emory.
  • Mat Rose got his MA in English and then left for sunny California. After a year he came back, but does not play quizbowl anymore.
  • Alex Richman got his doctorate and is teaching at Bucknell and coaching their quizbowl team. Go Alex!
  • Anthony Airne finished his doctorate too (Go Anthony!), but we don't know what he's up to right now.
  • Brian Hight ('99) took our trophies and one of our buzzer systems with him to Texas, where he now builds roads and bridges.
  • Brian Rostron works as a substitute teacher here in C-ville.
  • Alice Chou ('98) is off doing graduate studies at the University of Chicago.
  • Andrew Yaphe ('98) is also off doing graduate studies at the University of Chicago.
  • Clay Davenport was a player on the Virginia teams of the early 80's who went on to a successful graduate career at the University of Wisconsin, leading the Badgers to the 1986 CBI championship. He later returned to UVA to work in the Environmental Science department and during his second stint in C'Ville, he coached the Cavaliers to the 1997 CBI National Championship. In the summer of 1997, he accepted a job with a Washington-area weather firm and has since lived somewhere out in Prince George's County, Maryland. In March of 1998, he returned to Charlottesville and teamed up with Phil O'Donoghue, Carrie Pruett, and Anthony Airne to win the 1998 Wahoo War of the Minds as a member of the Erstwhile Cavaliers.
  • Mike Dershewitz ('97) is working in New York for J.P. Morgan and staying one step ahead of federal investigators.
  • Christie Gibson ('97) is also in New York, working for American Heritage.
  • Dan Hodes is looking for a job and presumably still interested in female basketball players. Watch this space for updates whenever any updates are received.
  • Tom Michael restarted the College Bowl team at the University of Virginia back in the early 80s. He led the team to a few championships during his tenure as coach, and was the chairman of the Committee to Pave the Lawn. He now studies at Auburn-Montgomery.
  • Jamie Plummer ('98) is poised to become the next big thing in American libertarianisim, just as soon as he turns off the TV. He is currently working as a political consultant in the New York area and is rumored to be living in New Jersey.
  • Carrie Pruett graduated in December of 1996. She was spotted in Charlottesville during the 1998 Wahoo War as a member of the Erstwhile Cavaliers. Carrie has graduated from law school at Washington and Lee University, but her current whereabouts are unknown.
    Amy Estes ('96) was also studying law, at last check, at that same institution.
  • Chris Sloan is studying law at Vanderbilt University.
  • Phil O'Donoghue ('95) is in the insurance business in Baltimore, Maryland. You may have seen him on Jeopardy! in the fall of 1997.
  • Charles Odell builds missiles in New Jersey.
  • Debo Sarkar is programming somewhere.
  • Scott Rothbart is attending dental school at Ohio State.
  • Jamie Weiss is working in DC for an environmental marketing company.
  • Hank Chambers (graduate of both the college and law school and former captain in the late '80s/ early '90s) is the coach at Missouri - Columbia.
  • Jim Scott ('92), winner of the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. He even got a cameo in "Groundhog Day."
  • Kathleen Kelley (nee Kelly) ('94) graduated from Washington & Lee law school and is now a corporate attorney in the thriving metropolis that is Wilmington, Delaware.
