Current Philanthropy- ΘΧ-Mas

ΘΧ-Mas made it's first debut during the fall semester of 2007, and the goal of the event was to utilize the resources and opportunities that the fraternity had in order to benefit less fortunate children in the Charlottesville area. Toys-For-Tots is a major organization that is known to provide holiday cheer to those in need, and when we contacted them they were very excited for us to get involved. Thus, we began to campaign for Toys-For-Tots in order to raise money by tabling out on grounds and throwing a culminating philanthropy event where donations are accepted. The first year we did it was a great success, and in 2008 we ran it again only to top what we did in 2007. Between both years over $4000 dollars in toys and money were given to the local Charlottesville area Toys-For-Tots program, and we hope to continue ΘΧ-Mas year after year and continue to succeed in raising money. In 2009, we plan to work together with the ROTC programs at U.Va. to expand this charitable event.

Past Successes

The members of the Xi chapter of Theta Chi pride themselves in community service, taking on projects like Habitat for Humanity, volunteer tutoring at the local Charlottesville High School and helping out the local Goodwill store. ' Below are some of the pictures taken during these projects. The big philanthropy the Xi chapter of Theta Chi has is its annual ΘΧ-Mas held near the end of each Fall semester, right before the holiday season.
