1819 - Norwich University founded at Norwich, Vermont.

April 10, 1856, 9 P.M. [Thursday evening] - Theta Chi Society founded in Old South Barracks [below] at Norwich University, Norwich, Vermont, at nine o'clock on Thursday evening, April 10, 1856. Arthur Chase elected first president, Frederick Norton Freeman elected first secretary; Lorenzo Potter and Edward Bancroft Williston elected members. Alpha Chapter inactive 1960.

September 8, 1881 - Theta Chi reduced to one undergraduate member, James Michael Holland.

February 22, 1908 - Grand Chapter of Theta Chi organized at Boston, Massachusetts. J. Albert Holmes elected first national president.

January 26, 1914 - Xi Chapter installed at The University of Virginia.

September 14, 1929 - Wirt Peebles Marks, Jr., Xi Chapter, elected National President.

Fall 1968 - Xi Chapter of Theta Chi moves from Carr's Hill to current residence at 600 Preston Place.
