The
History of the National Organization
Our Tenets and
Mission
It All Began...
In the Summer of 2000, two ladies, Bahareh Moradi and Danielle Khaleen McCamey began to explore several
sororities at the
University of Virginia. They desired an organization founded on high
ideals, true and diverse sisterhood and a strong commitment to
service.
Unfortunately, they were not satisfied with any existing organizations
and reached beyond the University's boundaries to find the ONE
organization that matched their values. They were determined to
continue their search, so they began to look for other answers. By
June 2002, these two visionaries found the sisterhood that represents
high ideals and accentuates the beauty of their diversity: Theta Nu Xi
Multicultural Sorority, Inc.
These
sisters began to spread the word of their realization in hopes of
recruiting other ladies with the same values. In the Fall of 2002,
these six ladies; Bahareh Moradi, Leah Rachel Mayoral, Rachel Alexis
Dean, Danielle Khaleen McCamey, Cynthia Ashaunta Robinson, and Cynthia
Ann Humston became the interest group, Ladies of Vision and
Excellence, or L.O.V.E.
Faced
with the challenge of being recognized by the University of Virginia,
these ladies presented a proposal to the Office of Fraternity and
Sorority Life and the Multicultural Greek Council to bring a chapter
of the organization to grounds. The vote for membership and
recognition of a chapter of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.
at the University was unanimous. Thus, they began the long journey to
emergence, and on
December 7, 2002, the Most Passionate Pi Chapter was
founded at the University
of Virginia.
