Spring 2006 Election Endorsement List!

The polls are open Friday, February 24^th through Tuesday, February 28^th.

This spring the Minority Rights Coalition, consisting of La Alianza Coalition of Hispanic/Latino Leaders, the Asian Student Union, the Black Student Alliance, the National Organization for Women, and the Queer Student Union, held extensive, in-depth interviews for several candidates in this year’s race. We were looking for candidates who are knowledgeable about the various minority communities on Grounds and who show a genuine interest in actively promoting equitable treatment and representation of all students. We were also looking to see if these candidates were well-qualified for their position; showed creativity, innovation and could relate to the general UVa population. The following candidates have met our rigorous standards and we therefore collectively chose to endorse them:

*Please note: No candidate for Student Council President met our rigorous standards for endorsement. We therefore collectively chose not to endorse a candidate for this position. However, we encourage you to do your own research and decide between either Greg Jackson or Darius Nabors, both of whom are able candidates for Student Council President.
