"Birds Eye View" was written after a helicopter ride-along over her childhood home with her husband and kids standing in the front yard. "The Way We Talk Now" was written on the residency interview trail.

When he is not training in his pediatrics residency, he plans to encompass his life around following Duke men's basketball, meditation sessions with his car, and mentoring his younger brother who is also studying medicine.
