Administrative Board Committees

The work of the Board is divided into five areas:

Professional Staff
responsible for personnel issues, including the evaluation and support of the Foundation director (currently Alex Joyner), the Program Director (currently Deborah Lewis), and the Administrative Assistant (currently Betsy Greenleaf). The director is a clergy person who is appointed by the bishop of the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church following interviews and recommendations of this committee.
Property
provides for the maintenance and improvement of the Foundation and the Cottage.
Liaison
maintains and strengthen relationships with supporting churches. Currently this committee is sponsoring the building of a Habitat for Humanity House in Albemarle County involving students and church members.
Development
establishes the budget, maintains connections with alumni, publishes an alumni newsletter, raises funds through the Friends of the Foundation and Jim McDonald Lecture Series campaigns, and sponsors alumni events.
Long-Range Planning
develops and encourages long-range plans and visions for the Wesley Foundation.
Alumni Relations
maintains relationships with alumni through the Wesley Word newsletter and plans alumni events
