Spring Break Mission Trip 2002

March 9 - 16, 2002

Cortazar, Mexico

Every spring, students from the Wesley Foundation give up their chance for spring break at the beach. Instead of partying, we go on the Spring Break Mission Trip, traveling all over North America helping those in need. In return, we get to see new places near and far, make lifelong memories, and (most of all) know we are doing God's work.

[children-and-flags.jpg (57K)] In previous years, we have gone on missions to Philadelphia, St. Louis, the Texas/Mexico border, and the island of Antigua. This year's trip is to the city of Cortazar, in the heart of Mexico.

The Mamie Baird Jardin de Níos is a preschool in Cortazar run by the United Methodist Church. 86 children come to the school five days a week. In addition, it provides scholarship assistance for low-income students in the city. The school has plans to expand their programs to include adult literacy classes and adult education in computers and English.

During our time (March 9-16, 2002), we will be working on the new upper level of the preschool and doing several projects with the children. We hope you will support us in our efforts as we travel to Mexico.
