Wesley Foundation
Residential Community

The Wesley Foundation Residential Community is...

  • More than just a place to live
  • A unique experience
  • An active, connected part of the larger University community
  • A supportive, open environment
  • A model program for other Christian communities
  • A great place to live and learn!

About the Community...

The Wesley Foundation Residential Community is an intentional Christian community made up of Wesley Foundation students.

The Residential Community is made up of three houses surrounding the Wesley Foundation and Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. They are affectionately known as The Cottage, The Dwelling, and The Moosetrap. Altogether they can house as many as 12 students (4 in each house), although the exact number of students in the Community has been known to differ from year to year.

The Community itself is co-ed, with genders separated by house. Students must apply (or, as the case may be, re-apply) to live in the Community each academic year. At the beginning of each year, Community residents meet to develop the covenant that will bind them as a community for that year. Throughout the year, Community residents strive to interact with each other, with the Foundation, and with the University community at large in ways that reflect the principles established in their covenant. Past Community endeavors have included cell groups, progressive dinners for the entire Foundation, study breaks, and occasional impromptu gatherings.

The Residential Community provides a place for students to explore day-to-day issues of faith, support one another, and also just to have a lot of fun.
