The Moosetrap is, in many ways, the heart of the Residential Community.
It is located in the center of the Community, between the Foundation and
Wesley Memorial Church. Due to its location and long history, The
Moosetrap is well known to University students and alumni. It is
frequently used as a meeting place, and serves as a visible reminder that
students are important to the joint ministries of the Wesley Foundation
and Wesley Memorial Church. The Moosetrap is alive with activity
every year: many students stop by just to say "hello", and Foundation events
are often held inside or in the back yard.
Where does the name "Moosetrap" come from?
There are several stories which have been passed down over the years.
Ask around the Foundation, maybe someone knows the real answer! In
any case, visitors to the house will quickly notice a large (fake) stuffed
moose head hanging in the dining room. Come by and see him!
